Scannell Properties leases 26,900 square metre logistics platform to The Jacky Perrenot Group in Gondreville, France

Property developer and investor Scannell Properties has announced the signing of a 9-year lease with Groupe Jacky Perrenot, one of France’s leading transport companies, for a 26,900 square metre logistics platform in Gondreville (54). Refurbishment work and improvements to energy performance will be carried out on the building at the start of the operating period.

Newly acquired, already let. In February 2023, logistics property expert Scannell Properties announced that it had acquired a portfolio of logistics platforms from Lidl, which it was leasing back to the retailer on a short-term basis.  This included the 26,900 square metre building which is situated less than 1 kilometre from the A31 motorway, on the Gondreville-Fontenoy international business park in Meurthe-et-Moselle.

A 9-year long-term lease

Groupe Jacky Perrenot, has signed a long-term lease for a period of 9 years and will take possession of the premises at the end of the month. It will operate the warehouse for the logistics activities of its Perrenot Lorraine regional branch.

Environmental improvements

While the building is in use, Scannell Properties will carry out the refurbishment work and energy performance improvements initially planned when Lidl left the site, to meet the requirements of the tertiary sector decree and the objectives of reducing energy consumption. The aim is to achieve the BREEAM in Use certification.

“We are delighted to welcome a renowned player such as Groupe Jacky Perrenot as part of a long-term partnership based on a premium rent. The acquisition of this building is in line with the principles of the circular economy and our desire to redevelop brownfield sites or renovate existing buildings, such as the Gondreville site. Our short-term ambition is to carry out 100% of our developments using this more virtuous model,” says Hugues Desbarrières, Deputy Managing Director France at Scannell Properties.

“This transaction also illustrates a fundamental trend in the market, with the attraction of immediately available buildings for operators, particularly third-party logistics providers. It reinforces our conviction in our strategy to continue to develop logistics projects across France to meet this demand.”
