Scannell Properties adds Jay Tanjuan to lead Southern California development Tanjuan to launch new office, grow team
Indianapolis, IN (Jan 25, 2022) Scannell Properties, an international commercial real estate developer, has named Jay Tanjuan as director of development and head of its new Southern California office. Jay will lead Scannell Properties’ growing presence in the Southern California office, as the company adds to the 2.5 million square feet of industrial development projects already completed in the region.
Jay’s extensive experience in the industrial real estate sector includes over a decade with Panattoni Development Company in Irvine, most recently as a senior development manager responsible for site acquisition, due diligence, entitlements, construction management, marketing, leasing and dispositions. Prior to Panattoni, Jay was an office tenant rep broker with JLL in Orange County and served six years in the US Navy in support of Operations Enduring and Iraqi Freedom as a supply officer in logistics and supply chain management.
Jay is a 2001 graduate of the United States Naval Academy and has earned an MBA from the University of California, Irvine; Master of Science in Construction Management from Louisiana State University; and Master of Science in International Real Estate from Florida International University.
“The Southern California industrial market is experiencing explosive growth right now with vacancy at all-time lows while demand for warehouse space has never been greater,” said Jay. “I’m extremely excited to use my experience in this market and leverage Scannell Properties’ international platform and extensive expertise in industrial real estate to help develop much-needed warehouse, logistics and e-commerce space.”
Jay and the Scannell Properties team will be actively sourcing new ground-up development and redevelopment opportunities throughout the Southern California region.
“Our analysis tells us there is a need for up to 1 billion square feet of additional warehouse space through 2025. Jay has the drive, intelligence and market know-how to quickly get this office up and running on all cylinders, so we can meet that demand and bring economic opportunity to the area,” said Tim Elam, managing director at Scannell Properties.
