Scannell Properties strengthens its German Team with Marko Klemt as Legal Counsel, Germany
Scannell Properties has recruited lawyer Marko Klemt to strengthen its German team from 1 November 2020. This follows the recent hire of Architect and Project Manager Sophie von der Wiede as Project Manager,Germany to start on 1 December.
Legal expert Marko Klemt started his career in 2005 at the law firm Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer, in Frankfurt am Main. In 2010, he joined the insurance group Generali Deutschland in Cologne. In 2011, Marko joined Prologis and took over as Vice President, Legal Counsel Northern Europe, in Düsseldorf. From 2019 until the end of October 2020, he worked as legal counsel to the German Pension Fund for Auditors, also in Düsseldorf.
Marko, who will be based in Düsseldorf, will be Scannell Properties’ primary contact on strategic legal questions for the development and investment team, including coordinating and documenting legal strategies and contracts for the acquisition, letting, development, financing, and disposal of commercial properties. His duties will also cover due diligence, including reviewingthe work of local legal advisors, to supervise the framing and negotiation of contracts.
His wide-ranging expertise and extensive experience in German property law will benefit Scannell Properties and ensure the company can offer its clients in the German market an all-round service and innovative solutions for project development.
Marko will be reporting directly to the company’s legal team in its Head Office in the USA.
