(Indianapolis, IN, 10/13/17)— Indianapolis-based Scannell Properties has expanded their green blueprint with the construction of a FedEx small package and sorting distribution warehouse in Arcadia, California.
The 42-acre, 367,102 SF facility was designed to receive LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certification at the Silver level, under the green building rating system that encourages using less energy and water resources, reducing carbon emissions and creating a healthier environment for residents, workers and the larger community. Among other positive environmental factors, the facility will provide a 54% reduction in building energy use; a 70% reduction of outdoor potable water use; and 86% of construction waste was diverted from the landfill.
“Scannell Properties is pleased to have constructed top-quality space for FedEx business operations in Arcadia,” said Courtney Lehman, Managing Director, Scannell Properties. “Our experience and expertise in the LEED design and certification process will serve us well in delivering these high-quality, environmentally sustainable buildings.”
The architect on the project was RGA, and Gaia was the LEED consultant & commissioning agent.
