Derek Brown is the director of Critical Infrastructure at Scannell Properties. He has more than 25 years of experience in the construction industry with expertise in business development and project oversight for critical facilities across the country. Based in Indianapolis, his focus spans data centers, manufacturing and food-grade production facilities, healthcare facilities, and all other complex building projects.
His experience includes 16 years working directly as a MEP contractor, giving him a deep understanding of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, which is complemented by skills in BIM modeling, project budgeting, design and engineering, and commissioning.
Derek is responsible for leading business development efforts, overseeing project execution, and ensuring our team delivers excellence in critical infrastructure projects nationally. His aim is to further strengthen Scannell’s capabilities in supporting customers across sectors such as IT, manufacturing, healthcare, and other demanding users.
Derek earned a Bachelor of Science in Building Construction Management with a specialization in MEP technology from Purdue University.
