David Duncan is an attorney serving as assistant general counsel for Scannell Properties. He is primarily responsible for assisting with all aspects of the commercial and industrial development process, including acquisitions, dispositions, debt and equity financing, strategic partnerships, and commercial leasing.
Prior to joining Scannell, David was a partner at Bose McKinney & Evans LLP, where he was a member of the firm’s real estate and business practice groups. David earned a Juris Doctorate from the Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law and a Bachelor of Science in business process management from the Indiana University Kelley School of Business.
David is a past-president of the Indianapolis Bar Association (2024), a past-president of the Indianapolis Bar Foundation (2014), a current member of the Indianapolis Bar Association board of directors, and he will serve as chair of Indianapolis Bar Association’s In-House Counsel Division in 2026. He has also previously served as treasurer for the Indianapolis Bar Association, president of the Real Estate and Land Use Executive Committee, and has chaired numerous IndyBar committees, and has presented at the American Bar Association’s National Conference of Bar Foundations annual meeting.
In 2019, David was honored with the President’s Award for Service to the Association for his work in helping the Indianapolis Bar Association and Foundation relocate to the “IndyBar HQ” at 140 N. Illinois Street.
