Scannell Properties lets new last-mile unit in Rome to GOFO
Scannell Properties has completed Logistic Park Roma, its 10,844 m² urban logistics development in Via di Salone, Rome. Situated on a 32,000 m² plot, within an established industrial zone, the building comprises two units, both with a GLA of approximately 5,500 m². GOFO, an international company specialising in last mile deliveries and operating in the US and Europe, has taken the first of two units available at the site.
Logistic Park Roma is strategically located just 2 km from the Grande Raccordo Anulare (GRA) ring road and 15 minutes from the city centre. The new asset has been designed to meet the needs of urban logistics and last-mile delivery, thanks to a high level of automation, a focus on operational efficiency, flexible spaces and reduced environmental impact.
The building has been certified BREEAM Excellent for sustainable features including: electric vehicle charging points, photovoltaic panels, electric heat pumps for heating and cooling, a dual network with a rainwater recovery system, LED lighting, twilight sensors and a BMS system to ensure optimal energy performance.
Francesco Nappo, Expansion Director, Italy at Scannell Properties states:
“As ever more Italian consumers embrace online shopping, cities such as Rome continue to suffer from under-supply of modern, flexible, urban logistics space. Logistic Park Roma is one of very few new speculative developments, in such close proximity to the Grande Raccordo Anulare and Rome city centre, to come to market this year. The building will provide GOFO with grade A space, adapted to the needs of high-flow logistics and we are delighted to welcome them to the park.
Ling Chen, Direttore Generale di GOFO Italia, he commented:
“We are delighted to launch our operations in the new Via di Salone facility. This strategic hub will significantly increase GOFO’s distribution capacity in Rome and Southern Italy. The building’s high-quality construction, focus on sustainability, and its prime location are fully aligned with GOFO’s vision: to offer local customers in Italy faster, more efficient, and more environmentally friendly last-mile delivery services.”
CBRE assisted Scannell Properties in the leasing of Warehouse B, Logistic Park Roma. Alessandro Petruzzi, Head of Industrial & Logistics Italy at CBRE, added:
“The transaction marks a strategic milestone for the Roman logistics market, confirming the growing demand for modern, sustainable spaces in prime locations. CBRE is proud to have guided Scannell Properties in this significant deal, which involves a leading player such as GOFO and strengthens Rome’s role as a key logistics hub.”
Beg Ingéniere, the international engineering and construction company, acted as general contractor for the project.
