Scannell Properties breaks ground on HarperCollins Publishers’ state-of-the-art supply chain logistics facility in Brownsburg, IN.

Scannell Properties, an international commercial real estate developer, in collaboration with HarperCollins Publishers, hosted a groundbreaking ceremony for its new 1.6 million-square-foot Indiana supply chain logistics facility.

Indiana Governor Mike Braun joined Brian Murray, President and CEO of HarperCollins Publishers, in kicking off the event, which was attended by leaders from Scannell Properties, the Indiana Office of Commerce, the Town of Brownsburg, and HarperCollins, among others.

The supply chain logistics facility will utilize the most advanced warehouse technology available and will have the capacity to ship more than 300 million books annually to more than 100 countries around the world. Set to open in 2028, the operation is expected to create more than 400 supply chain logistics jobs and an additional 375 jobs during the construction phase.

“I want to thank Governor Braun, Town Manager Deb Cook, and the entire Brownsburg Town Council for their support. The meaningful incentives provided by the state, town, and AES Indiana helped to make this project in Brownsburg possible,” said Murray. “This facility represents a strategic investment in our customers, authors, and distribution strategy. Upon completion, this will be the most technologically advanced warehouse in the industry, positioning us for growth and the expansion of our third-party logistics services.”

“Indiana is proud to welcome HarperCollins Publishers to Brownsburg. Their investment is a testament to the strength of the Hoosier workforce and our strategic position as the crossroads of America,” said Braun. “Our commitment to creating a pro-growth business environment will continue to bring more well-paying jobs to Indiana.”

Scannell Properties is the sole developer, in partnership with Pepper Construction and Curran Architecture.
