Scannell Properties Breaks Ground on Commercial Point, Ohio Logistics Park
Scannell Properties launched the first phase of development on Commercial Point in a June 15 groundbreaking ceremony that brought businesses, community leaders and legislators together to celebrate.
The first phase of the Commercial Point development, located in Commercial Point, Ohio, on the south side of the greater Columbus region, is a speculative, 1.18 million SF building with a 40′ clear height, 60 dock doors and 4 drive-in doors.
The development is Scannell Properties’ ninth project in the central Ohio region, reflecting the developer’s confidence in and commitment to the area for long-term industrial and logistics use.
“Nearly 50 percent of the U.S. population is located within a 10-hour drive of the Columbus region. With well situated interstate, air, and rail options, the region offers optimal supply chain access,” said Chris Carlino, Development Manager, Scannell Properties. “We are confident in the strength of the region, and that’s why we keep coming back.”
“Central Ohio continues to attract businesses that want to invest, grow, and create jobs, and today’s groundbreaking is another example of that momentum,” said Rep. Mike Carey (R-OH-15). “The Rickenbacker area has become a key driver of economic growth for our region, and projects like Commercial Point help strengthen our supply chain network while creating new opportunities for Ohio workers and businesses. I look forward to seeing this project completed and the benefits it will bring to the region for years to come.”
“The Columbus region continues to be one of the most strategic logistics hubs in the country, and Commercial Point is a great example of the investment being made to support future growth,” said Matt Heater, Operations Manager, Alston Construction, the project’s general contractor. “Alston is honored to be part of this project and looks forward to delivering a facility that will serve businesses, create jobs and strengthen the region’s supply chain infrastructure for years to come.”
Construction is expected to be completed in April, 2027. For leasing information, please contact Joel Yakovac, Colliers, joel.yakovac@colliers.com.
