Scannell Properties lays the foundation stone for new urban logistics development in Rome

With more than 14 projects completed or in the pipeline in Italy, on October 28, Scannell Properties broke ground on its second last mile development in Rome. Located at 129 Via di Salone, adjacent to the Via Tiburtina, just 2 km from Rome’s ring road, Grande Raccordo Anulare (GRA) and 15 minutes from the city centre, the new logistics development is ideal for urban and last-mile logistics. When completed the warehouse will comprise of two units of approximately 5,500 mq each, on a plot of 33,000 mq.
The project planned at Via di Salone follows the completion in 2023 of the Logistic Park Roma Centro; a distribution centre chosen by the sales and service network of Stellantis &You, retail division of Stellantis, one of the world’s leading automotive manufacturers and provider of mobility solutions.
The new development at 129 Via di Salone will supply space suitable for modern, highly automated and specialist logistics and will be built in compliance with the highest construction and environmental sustainability standards.
Francesco Nappo, Expansion Director, Italy at Scannell Properties, commented: “Logistic Park Roma, one of the few assets on the market so close to the Grande Raccordo Anulare and Rome city centre, will provide occupiers with much needed new, flexible, grade A space in a strategically important location.”
The building has been designed to comply with BREEAM Excellent certification criteria including features to recover and reuse water and the use of renewable energy sources. Care has been taken to ensure the environmental impact of construction process will be minimised.

In line with Scannell Properties’ commitment to social sustainability, the development of Via di Salone will include the creation of a public green area of about 3,500 mq, with new services to meet the needs of those who work at and use the site.
