Scannell Properties Hit Major Milestone with First Land Acquisition in Germany
Scannell Properties today announced a key milestone in its European expansion plans with its first development land in Germany.
The 37 acre site in Kitzingen is centrally located and well-connected to many cities in Germany and more widely across Europe. The site forms part of an existing industrial zone and Scannell Properties is proposing to develop a number of high quality industrial and logistics units, ranging in sizes from 25,000 to 269,000 SF. Permission has also been granted to build high-bay warehouses. Scannell has already started marketing the development to occupiers and is open to inquiries for build-to-suit facilities.
Kitzingen benefits from rapid connections to Germany’s fifth largest city Frankfurt which can be reached in under two hours. A direct access road links the site to the A3 and A7 motorways and the cities of Stuttgart and Nuremberg are also easily accessible. Given its central location within Germany and Europe, the development is perfectly placed for European Headquarters for manufacturers. It also offers logistics or retail operators an unusual opportunity to acquire bespoke warehouse space in Continental Europe’s largest e-commerce market.
Heiko Richter, Managing Director in Germany said:
“This acquisition will allow us to create highly-demanded space either for industrial, retail logistic or parcel distribution tenants. The transport links from Kitzingen are excellent and the surrounding industrial area is already home to a number of companies including automotive industry suppliers, large 3PLs as well as distributors offering tenants flexible cut-off times.”
Amaury Gariel, Managing Director, Europe said:
“The acquisition of our first development land in Germany is an exciting moment for everyone in the company and it is a result of the hard work of the German team. The site is one of numerous opportunities we are currently working on in Europe and aligns with our strategy of developing space for occupiers in highly sought-after locations.”
