Shakopee City Council Gives Scannell Properties Green Light to Build Second Half of Business Park

(Minneapolis, MN, 4/4/18) – Final Plat approval for a pair of speculative buildings in Scannell Properties’ Valley View Business Center was approved by the Shakopee City Council on March 20th.

Scannell Properties plans to complete the second half of its 36-acre Industrial Park with the construction of two additional office/warehouse buildings.

“We’re very excited to provide the growing Minneapolis/St. Paul market with more highly functional Class-A office/warehouse space. Our site, which is just off Highway-101 and only minutes from Highway-169, is strategically located to provide tenants with excellent access to/from the greater Twin Cities Metro area. Users will also find that our site is conveniently located within walking distance from both the famous Canterbury Park and a Metro Transit stop,” says Tom McCary, Development Manager for the project.

The final two structures will be built on the remaining 18.1 acres and will be bounded to the south by Barenscheer Blvd., and on the north by 4th Avenue East. The site is just east of the two existing buildings within the park, which front on Shenandoah Dr. and are currently occupied by Hickory, NC-based CommScope Inc., which provides wireless network services, and Elander Mechanical Inc., a plumbing, heating and air conditioning company.

Scannell Properties will begin construction on the larger, 136,500 square foot facility first. Construction on the smaller, 124,800 square foot facility is currently unscheduled.

“Construction on Valley View III will begin this spring and wrap up in the fall,” McCary adds.

Valley View Business Center is currently being representing by Nathan Arnold, First VP at CBRE’s Minneapolis office.
