Robert Scannell

Robert Scannell is President and Founder of Scannell Properties and its affiliated companies. He founded the company in 1990. Bob oversees all aspects of the company’s client services and build-to-suit developments. Specific responsibilities on new projects include site selection/evaluation, building design, lease negotiation and financing of all projects.

From the inception of Scannell Properties, Bob’s vision for the company was to focus on build to suit leased projects with clients who would have a need for such projects on a repeat basis. These projects could be located anywhere in the US. His goal was to structure the company in such a way that a superior building could be delivered no matter where a particular project was to be located. That vision has resulted in the company doing over one billion in new development in 2016. The company has built over 200 projects and has built them in 44 states and Canada to date.

Prior to forming Scannell Properties, Bob was one of the partners of Duke Realty Investments prior to its restructuring as a REIT. As General Manager of the Indiana Division, he was in charge of all development, leasing, and management of Duke’s operations in Indiana consisting of approximately 12 million square feet of Class A industrial and office space. New development volume averaged approximately $200 million per year.

Doug Snyder

Doug Snyder is the COO and Founder of Scannell Properties, and has worked with the company since its inception in 1990. Prior to Scannell, he worked for five years with Bob Scannell at Duke Realty Investments as the controller of Duke’s development companies.

At Scannell, Doug oversees and manages all aspects of the business, but focuses on two areas: the aggressive underwriting of potential deals by blending the customer requests with the current market conditions; and the creative solutions to Scannell's project sales or financing strategies. Doug says one of the company's greatest strengths is the fact that it is well capitalized, allowing greater flexibility with the company's exit strategies. Scannell's success is the result of a total team effort meeting and exceeding customer's expectations.

Doug is a CPA with a bachelor of science in accounting from Indiana State University.

Tim Elam

As a managing director, Tim Elam is responsible for the management and administration of Scannell Properties' Corporate Service accounts throughout the United States. His involvement includes the entire development process including land acquisition, due diligence, entitlements, lease negotiations, construction, and client services. He has completed over 40 build-to-suits in Industrial, Office and Retail totaling over 5 million square feet. His primary accounts are FedEx, American Tire Distributors, DuPont-Pioneer, and others. Tim has been with Scannell for 10 years. Tim leverages his experience and education in finance, engineering and construction management to continually provide outstanding service to Scannell's clients. In 2011, Tim opened Scannell's Minneapolis office. The office currently has four employees and focuses on local and national development opportunities. Tim is a graduate of Purdue University's Krannert School of Management where he obtained a master's in business administration. He has also obtained his master's in construction engineering and management from Purdue University and a bachelor's in civil engineering from Michigan Technological University.

Courtney Lehman

Courtney Lehman brings a unique combination of finance, construction, engineering, and sales to the Scannell Team. A graduate of Purdue University in civil engineering, Courtney worked for Bechtel Construction for several years before returning to Purdue University (Krannert Business School) to complete his MBA with a focus in real estate and finance. Joining Scannell Properties in 2005, he has developed many key client relationships while helping to grow and expand the reach of the Scannell team. He has actively been involved with over 6 million square feet of development in his time with Scannell. Since 2012, Courtney's role has shifted to managing the development and construction of the home office in Indianapolis. His experience, relationships, and management skills are a catalyst to growing the depth of the Scannell team while continuing to focus on the client's needs and the end product delivery.

Bill Linville

Bill Linville is a managing director with Scannell Properties, involved in all aspects of the firm's activity with specific emphasis on land and project development investments. Prior to Scannell, Bill was a managing partner with SCP, an investment and development firm managing more than a billion dollar strategic capital fund. He spent most of his career as an executive officer with Duke Realty Investments. Over a twenty year period, Bill was a major part of the company's expansion from two markets with $400 million in assets, to one of the nation's largest mixed-use developers operating as a public REIT from 15 offices with a $10 billion market cap. He was personally involved in creating an industrial portfolio of over 100 million square feet, and more than 40 business parks across the country. He and Bob Scannell have done business together for more than 30 years. Over that career, Bill has been a consistent leader in office/industrial development, resulting in $3.5 billion of new development product, $2 billion in acquisitions, and $1.5 billion of third-party construction projects.

Joel Scannell

Joel Scannell, a managing director at Scannell Properties, has been employed at the company for fifteen years with a wide range of responsibilities, including property acquisition, development, asset management and finance. In addition to securing new business, negotiating deal terms and underwriting project economics, Joel's daily responsibilities include coordinating pre-construction pricing, design, land acquisition, due diligence, and other development activities. On projects under his oversight, Joel directs the efforts of the firm's project managers and third-party service providers, including leasing brokers, general contractors, architects, engineers and attorneys. Additionally, Joel works directly with lenders and intermediaries to secure construction and permanent financing and to dispose of select assets. Prior to joining Scannell Properties, Joel worked as a financial analyst for three Chicago-based commercial real estate firms. Most recently, at NorthMarq Capital, he worked in the debt and equity intermediary industry. Prior to NorthMarq, he contributed to underwriting efforts in the acquisitions group at Equity Office. Joel began his commercial real estate career evaluating the acquisition and development of health care real estate assets for a specialist group at LaSalle Partners. He earned his bachelor of arts degree at Northwestern University and his master of business administration degree at The University of Chicago Booth School of Business.

Jill Marcotte

Jill Marcotte is a senior director at Scannell Properties. Her responsibilities include due diligence, land acquisition, entitlements, design development, pre-construction and management of Scannell projects across the United States. Prior to joining Scannell Properties in 2010, Jill held the position as leasing executive for Weingarten Realty Investors (WRI) and its then JV partner in Denver, Miller Weingarten Realty. During her tenure with WRI, Jill served as president of the International Council of Shopping Centers' (ICSC) NextGen Colorado and Wyoming Chapter. Jill began her real estate career in 2002 with CB Richard Ellis as a Real Estate Manager on the asset services team. She holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Colorado.

Todd Berryhill

As a director, Todd Berryhill's responsibilities include initial due diligence, land acquisition, entitlements, design development, construction and stabilization of the asset. Based in San Francisco, California, his focus in the Western U.S. is on larger distribution/industrial style properties and redevelopment of infill property including light, industrial, R & D, and office. Prior to working at Scannell Properties, Todd worked for AMB Property Corporation (now Prologis) as a vice president in charge of development projects throughout Northern California, Oregon and Washington. He started his career at LNR Property Corporation, working on their military base conversion projects in Northern California. During his career, he has been responsible for all segments of the development process and has completed in excess of $250 million worth of project value. He is a member of the Urban Land Institute (ULI) and holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Oregon.

David Ravensberg

As Scannell's director, David Ravensberg is in charge of managing and growing its development and investment platform within the multi-family housing sector. David is responsible for securing new development and investment opportunities while managing its execution through strategic partnerships and key industry relationships. Prior to re-joining Scannell, David was vice president of development at Trinitas Ventures. While at Trinitas, David led site acquisition, development and the financing of over 6,300 beds and an additional +/-2,000 beds approved for deliveries in 2016 and 2017. Total transactions valued at more than $525 million. David holds his real estate salesperson license in the state of Indiana.

Tom earned a masters of business administration from Augsburg College and a packaging engineering degree from University of Wisconsin-Stout. He is an active member of NAIOP and serves on the University of Wisconsin – Stout’s Construction Board Advisory Group.

Derek Brown

Derek joined Scannell Properties in August 2016. Rob Cseresznyes

Rob Cseresznyes joined Scannell Properties in 2005 and has over 20 years of experience in the real estate development and construction industry.  At Scannell, Rob is responsible for coordinating all preconstruction and construction related activities for new projects.  He manages preconstruction activities as they relate to budget, schedule, design, and permitting.  Rob also manages construction activities closely monitoring costs, schedule, and quality while providing regular updates to the company's key clients.  Prior to joining Scannell, Rob spent 10 years with Turner Construction Company and helped established their Indianapolis office in 1996.  While with Turner, he successfully managed all aspects of construction activities from field to office operations.  Rob obtained a civil engineering degree from the University of Cincinnati and an MBA from Indiana Wesleyan University.

Shawn Hitchcock

Shawn serves as the Vice President of Project Management in the multifamily and student housing market sectors. He is responsible overseeing all aspects of the execution of our multifamily and student housing portfolio. Shawn brings over 16 years of commercial construction experience to Scannell.

Prior to joining Scannell he has performed in a wide variety of roles managing complex development projects across multiple market segments. He served as Vice President of Construction for a national multifamily builder as well as various leadership roles in the commercial construction field prior to that. Shawn was on staff with the 2012 Indianapolis Super Bowl Host Committee and later served as Director of Operations for Pacers Sports and Entertainment responsible engineering, operations, and construction. Shawn is a graduate of Purdue University and the Stanley K. Lacy Executive Leadership Program.

Mike Simmons

Michael Simmons is a project manager who joined Scannell Properties in 2015. Mike spent his early career working as a structural engineer in the heavy industrial field near Chicago, IL before moving on to construction management. He has been managing and designing construction projects since 1995. His experience ranges from heavy industrial, light commercial, office and retail design build construction—government contracting and building operations, maintenance and repair. Mike specialized in building retail lifestyle centers before managing design and construction of multiple land ports of entry. Prior to joining Scannell Properties, Mike worked for Lauth Property Group as the director of retail construction followed by a career with Customs and Border Protection's Office of Administration. Mike attended Purdue University in West Lafayette, IN and graduated with bachelor of science degree in civil engineering specializing in structural engineering.

Don Tuttle administers many of Scannell Properties' key functions including management of construction projects, cost estimation and contract negotiations. Over the past 21 years, Don has been directly involved with more than 140 projects spanning over 8 million square feet and exceeding 400 million dollars. He has managed projects ranging from tenant finishes to multi-story commercial, institutional, cold storage and industrial facilities. In 2015 he managed five new projects with a combined value of over 200 million dollars. Don has earned his LEED AP with building design & construction certification in 2010 and earned his bachelor of business administration from Texas Christian University.

Brad Walthall

Brad Walthall joined Scannell Properties in May 2015. Brad has been in construction management for 23 years, having served as a senior project manager in general construction and project and property management within the development industry. Brad has performed all aspects of management within the general contracting industry including estimating, contract management, scheduling, invoicing and management of labor. He was recognized by the American Subcontractors Association Greater Kansas City Chapter as the Project Manager of the Year in 2004. In 2007 Brad transitioned to the development industry and has managed new construction projects, remodels, redevelopments and property management.

Chris Miller

Chris Miller brings a unique blend of design and construction experience to Scannell Properties as a development manager. After earning degrees in civil Engineering and construction engineering & management from Purdue University in 2002, Chris spent 8 years as a practicing structural engineer and is a registered professional engineer. While in that role, he managed a wide variety of projects ranging from aviation facilities and office buildings to warehouses and environmental structures. The balance of his experience has been in the construction contracting trades, working for a general contractor and a trade subcontractor on a variety of commercial and medical projects, including specializing in green roofs for several years (achieving certification as a green roof professional). There he worked in both project management as well as direct labor supervision, gaining a valuable appreciation for the construction trades. Since joining Scannell, Chris' efforts have been focused on site selection and evaluation, land planning, entitlements, contract negotiation, and construction management.

John Lassaux

John Lassaux joined Scannell Properties in 2016 as development manager. Prior to joining Scannell, John was part of Mortenson Development, Inc., primarily focusing on multifamily and hospitality development projects including the mixed-use expansion of the Mall of America and over 500 multifamily units. John has been involved in the real estate industry since 2009 and is a graduate of the University of St. Thomas where he obtained a master’s in real estate finance. He is also a graduate of Iowa State University where he obtained a bachelor’s in business management.

As a graduate of Purdue University in Construction Engineering and Management, Ian spent seven years at Turner Construction in a variety of roles within engineering, project management and business development on both mission critical and higher education projects. During this time, he received a Master of Business Administration degree at The University of Chicago Booth School of Business with concentrations in Strategic Management, Finance and Accounting.

Amanda Henry

Amanda Henry joined Scannell in 2016 as a Development Associate and works with the development team primarily on build to suit warehouses. Her responsibilities include site selection and evaluation, preliminary design and entitlement efforts, due diligence, land planning, and contract negotiation.

Prior to joining Scannell, Amanda worked on the project management team for a general contractor where she managed construction and renovation projects for large healthcare facilities. Most recently she worked as an engineer for a large tool and construction materials company where she consulted with structural engineers on design and specifications of construction products. Amanda holds a bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from The Ohio State University.

Cassi Benson joined Scannell in 2016 as the Development Coordinator and is responsible for coordination of construction activities for new projects as well as Property Management.

Tim Meador earned a professional degree in architecture from the University of Tennessee in 2002. Prior to joining Scannell, he worked for Raaeco Architects while attending college as an intern from 2000 to 2004. Matt Corley

Matthew Corley joined Scannell in 2014 and is a director, working on all capital needs, including construction debt, permanent debt, and investment sales. Matt also focuses on forming and cultivating the company's growing number of joint venture relationships. He has handled or assisted in the closing of approximately $400 million of capital transactions. Prior to coming aboard, Matt worked at Lauth Property Group, a real estate development, construction and management company also based in Indianapolis. During his twelve years at Lauth, Matt was both the controller and a senior director of capital services where he oversaw the accounting group, was in charge of all construction debt, and aided in the investment sales activity. While working at Lauth, he closed nearly $1 billion of transactional volume. Matt is a certified public accountant and holds bachelor's degrees in accounting and finance from Ohio's Miami University.

As part of his responsibilities, Dave manages cash, works with construction loans, performs financial analysis on projects, and provides oversight of accounts payable and human resources. Dave graduated from Indiana University with a bachelor of science, finance, in 1977. He completed his master's of business administration degree at the University of Indianapolis while working as a cost accountant and financial analyst. Prior to joining Scannell in 2007, Dave worked as the CFO of Tharp Investments—a company that specialized in retail strip centers, and before that for Duke Homes/Welbourne Companies that developed multi-family housing, luxury homes and retail centers. For over 20 years, Dave was an adjunct professor at Franklin College (Indiana), teaching accounting and lecturing in economics.

Adam Nowak

Adam Nowak joined Scannell in 2016 as a Senior Analyst and assists with the multi-family team and capital group. Adam works on the underwriting and due diligence of new development opportunities, as well as compiling and analyzing market research.

Prior to joining Scannell, Adam worked as a Real Estate Analyst at Holiday Fenoglio Fowler (HFF). During that time he worked on nearly $550 million worth of debt placement, primarily for multi-family transactions.

Adam is a member of the Urban Land Institute (ULI) and holds a Bachelor of Science in Finance-Real Estate from the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University (2013).

Marilyn Bussen has worked for Scannell Properties for the past 14 years as executive assistant to Mr. Scannell. She started working in the real estate development business in 1984 where she was employed at The Shorewood Corporation for eighteen years. The Shorewood Corporation developed single family and multi-family housing at Geist and Morse Reservoirs as well as Valparaiso, Indiana, and Hilton Head Island, South Carolina. Prior to working at Scannell, she worked for Gordon Byers, a real estate attorney in Noblesville, Indiana as well as Douglas Floyd, a real estate zoning attorney in Noblesville, Indiana. Marilyn graduated from Indiana Business College in 1970.

Jim Carlino oversees Scannell's legal affairs and provides operational oversight and input on a variety of the company's day to day functions, including: structuring transactions and ownership arrangements; acquisitions; dispositions; risk management; leasing; financing; environmental matters; construction/development initiatives; litigation and tax planning. Jim has nearly 30 years of experience as a creative problem solver, finding common ground in multi-dimensional business transactions. He joined Scannell Properties in 2006 after spending 20 years with Bose, McKinney & Evans, LLP where he was a partner and chair of that firm's Real Estate Practice Group. Jim is a member of the American College of Real Estate Lawyers and served as an adjunct professor at Butler University. In 2007 he was first named to the list of "Best Lawyers in America" and has been recognized on that list each following year. Jim received his undergraduate degree from DePauw University, he studied at the Austro-American Institute in Vienna, and attended the Karl Marx University in Budapest. Jim received his law degree with honors from Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana in 1985.

David Duncan joined Scannell’s legal team in 2016 and concentrates on business development. He is primarily responsible for all aspects of real estate development, including acquisitions, dispositions, entitlements, commercial leasing and debt and equity financing.

Prior to joining Scannell, David was in the role of Counsel, Bose McKinney & Evans LLP – where he worked in business services, including preparation and negotiation of loan/transfer documents for asset-based and real estate transactions, corporate transactions, tax planning and land use planning and zoning.

David has represented clients in various types of business matters, including issues of residential and commercial real estate, commercial lending, land use planning and zoning, residential and commercial property tax appeals, real estate funding, 1031 like-kind exchanges, and more. He also has a background in tax law, as he served as a research assistant to Professor Lawrence A. Jegen, III, tax law professor, and .an extern with the Indiana Tax Court.

David is a past-president of the Indianapolis Bar Foundation, and a current member of the Indianapolis Bar Association Board of Directors. In this capacity, he serves on the executive committee of the Indianapolis Bar Association Real Estate & Land Use Planning Section.

David is a graduate of Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law where he received his J.D. He also attended Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business where he received a B.S., business process management.

She is responsible for corporate maintenance, preparation and assistance involving applications and closings for TIFF programs; tracking and updating spreadsheets on all land projects, projects on radar, deposits, letters of credit and bonds. She is also responsible for all closings (acquisition/dispositions and loan) including preparation of closing documents, closing statements, working with local counsel, and follow up/resolution of all post-closing issues.
